Worms impair the health and kill more dogs than all other canine diseases combined. There is no permanent cure for dog worms; infestation is cyclical. Left unchecked these parasites can be transmitted to children as well as adults. Therefore, a regular dewormer treatment program is essential to avoid chronic and costly health problems

All Happy Jack dewormers are approved for safety and efficacy by the FDA. Happy Jack dewormers are manufactured and distributed in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Procedures as outlined by the US Food & Drug Administration to insure consistent quality and freshness.

Treatment of dog worms depends upon the animal's age and environment. Mature animals that are not confined should require only two dewormer treatments annually. Pups may require 3 to four dewormer treatments prior to 12 weeks of age depending upon their living quarters and contact with worm eggs.

The three most common dog worms are commonly known as hook worms, round worms, and tapeworms:

(1) Hook Worms - Dog worms that are barely visible to the human eye. Thread-like, they attach themselves to the wall of the intestine where they bleed the host animal.  Host animals exhibit: 1) Pale gums; 2) Matted eyes; 3) Irregular appetite; 4) Dull coat; 5) Dark and loose feces with signs of blood in advanced infestations

(2) Round Worms - Dog worms that are easily seen with the naked eye, white and round in appearance. Host animal exhibits: 1) Pale Gums; 2) Dull coat; 3) Bloated stomach, thin bone structure; 4) Irregular appetite and bowel movement.  In extreme cases round worms may be coughed up by host animal.

(3) Tapeworms-Flat  - Dog worms that are white and ribbon-like in appearance, can grow to immense length in host animal. Transmitted by fleas. Symptoms: 1) Irregularly raveous appetite; 2) Extremely thin especially in hind quarters; 3) White specks may appear in rectum area; 4) Scratching rectum by "skooting"

Remember, preventing infestation of dog worms with a regular dewormer program is easier than purging worms once they have heavily infested the dog.
